The yard doubles as a hay field. When all of the livestock grazes freely, it's only inside walls that hay can be grown. The man who owns the house that I stay in cuts the hay and turns it periodically to dry. Some people dry it on the roofs of their dung-sheds. They then store it in sheds as-is, or braid it into ropes for storage.
