Two days of riding in a really bumpy vehicle over gravel roads or no roads at all. We got water samples, checked up on a village clinic, and surveyed people about snow leopard activity nearby. I ate lots of yak meat and yak yoghurt and yak milk tea- sometimes with a big chink of yak butter floating on top! The room where we slept even had a side of yak meat laying on the floor. I'm leaving on a 5 to 6 day trip tomorrow to work on a vegetation study.
A village clinic.
This is a house in the community where we were working for the past two days. In the foreground is a nomad's loom on which he weaves yak wool yarn into cloth for tents.
Here he is weaving.
