Wow! Xining has grown to about 1 million people. Last night I had a fantastic steak dinner and tonight a wood-fired gourmet pizza. There are coffee bars with wireless internet and free refills- amazing! The food is far better than anything available in my hometown!
Yesterday and today we've been going over the multiple projects that have been running and/or proposed over the last three years. We've got two visiting PhDs from the UK here now checking out the options for another project/funding stream. Tomorrow we'll be meeting with some folks from the academy of science with whom we partner on some ecological/environmental studies and may potentially partner with on another development project. Lots of exciting work going on- there will be no dull days.
