upcoming meeting (meeting sounds short- it's actually about a week
long). Today's were a training manual for identifying the birds and
mammals found in the region and some diagrams explaining
human-wildlife conflict, competition for grazing land, and some
methods for bear-proofing the homes. Marion did another day of
training local doctors. Peter headed down to the city (17 hour drive)
to get the truck tuned up, purchase some equipment, and pick up a
visiting scientist for the meeting- but most importantly he's
restocking my Tabasco supply.
I'm just finishing up downloading some news stories before heading to
bed. I once came home from college and Grandad asked me something or
other about the news. I said I didn't really keep up with the news.
"That's a real good way to stay ignorant." he said. I've tried to keep
